What this column contains
A number on the one-to-five scale, as displayed on the listing. Empty when the business has no reviews at all.
Where the value comes from
Read from the listing at the moment of extraction, which the scraped-at column timestamps.
Example value
4.6
What people use it for
- 01Pitch reputation management to businesses whose rating is dragging.
- 02Qualify partners and resellers by requiring a minimum rating.
- 03Combine with review count to separate genuinely strong businesses from thin ones.
- 04Benchmark a client against the category average in their own city.
What it will not tell you
The average hides the distribution and the timeline. A 4.6 built over ten years can be falling fast, and this column will not show that on its own.
Questions about this field
- Why do some rows have no rating?
- Because the listing has no reviews yet. New and unclaimed listings frequently sit in that state — which is itself a sales signal.
- Does the rating update between runs?
- It reflects the moment of extraction. Re-run the same search later and compare against the scraped-at timestamp to see movement.
