Terms of service
Last updated 19 August 2026
These terms cover your use of mapscraper.io, the MapScraper browser extension and the API. Using any of them means you accept them.
The account
One account, one person. Sign-in links are personal — sharing one shares your lead balance and your stored data. You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live, and you may not use the service if we have previously terminated your account.
Leads and billing
- Plans are counted in leads: one delivered business row is one lead. There is no separate credit currency.
- You are charged only for rows delivered. A scan reserves an amount up front so two scans cannot spend the same balance, and the reservation is reconciled when the scan ends. Stop a 3,400-row scan at row 412 and you pay 412; the rest returns to your balance immediately.
- Counting is free. The estimate shown before a scan never deducts anything.
- Unused leads roll into the next month, up to your plan's monthly allowance. They do not accumulate indefinitely and they are not redeemable for cash.
- Paid plans renew automatically until cancelled. Cancel any time; the plan runs to the end of the period already paid for. Prices exclude tax.
The repair guarantee
Map interfaces change without notice and extraction can break. Because our selectors are served as configuration rather than compiled into the extension, we can usually fix a break without a store update.
Our commitment: if extraction breaks and is not working again within 24 hours, that month's subscription is refunded. The clock starts when our telemetry first records the break, not when you report it. The guarantee covers extraction failures caused by changes we can fix by configuration; it does not cover outages at Google or Bing, your own network, or a scan that returns few results simply because few businesses match.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Resell or redistribute the service itself, or share access outside your seat count.
- Use extracted data in a way that breaks applicable law — including data protection, anti-spam and telemarketing rules in the recipient's country.
- Attempt to bypass the rate limits, the abuse protections or the lead accounting, or run the service through automated clients other than the API and extension we provide.
- Use the service to harass, profile or target private individuals.
We may suspend an account that does any of these, and will explain why when we do.
Data you extract
Business information published on Google Maps and Bing Maps is not ours and we claim no rights in it. Extracted rows are yours to use, and the responsibility for how you use them is yours too. If you send commercial email or make sales calls, you are the data controller for that processing and must have your own lawful basis. See the privacy policy for detail.
Availability
We aim for continuous availability but do not promise it. The service is provided as-is, without warranties beyond those the law requires and those given explicitly above. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability in any 12-month period is limited to what you paid us in that period.
Ending it
You can delete your account at any time, which deletes your profile, jobs and stored leads. We may close an account for a serious or repeated breach of these terms, with notice unless the breach makes that impractical.
Changes
We will announce material changes on this page and by email to account holders before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that means accepting the new terms.
